<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To visually reduce the deterioration of picture quality when the compression ratio of an image is increased by changing the compression ratio of every block is changed on a screen based on the position information on a primary object. SOLUTION: An input photographed image is divided into the prescribed number of pixel blocks at a screen dividing part 5, and each of these pixel blocks is supplied to a compressing part 6. Meanwhile, the object position information which is inputted from an object position information detection part is inputted to a weighting part 8. Based on the object position information, the part 8 allocates the larger quantity of information to the pixel block that includes a primary object. That is, a weighting signal is outputted to the part 6 to reduce the compression ratio of the pixel block including the primary object. The part 6 decides the compression ratio for each of inputted pixel blocks based on the weighting signal and compresses the image data to output them to a confining part 7. The part 7 combines the compressed image data for every pixel block.</p> |
