PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization and cost reduction of a weight detection apparatus for use with a microwave oven and to permit high-accuracy weight detection. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes a thrust shaft 41 which is displaced in thrust direction according to weight, a first relative displacement detection member 42 which turns according to displacement of the thrust shaft, a second relative displacement detection member 43 which is not turned in response to displacement of the thrust shaft 41 but in response to a rotary driving force from a rotary drive means 12, and position keeping means for keeping the circumferential positions of the first and second relative displacement detection members 42, 43. The apparatus is provided with a weight conversion means which detects the amount of displacement of the first relative displacement detection member 42 relative to the second relative displacement detection member 43, and which converts the amount of displacement into weight.
