PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause an electronic controller for motor to surely brake a motor by continuously outputting a gate trigger signal, until a braking current becomes equal to or larger than the holding current of a triode AC switch, even if the motor is small-sized. SOLUTION: A electronic brake controller A1 is constituted, in such a way that the controller detects power supply synchronizing signals from both ends of a semiconductor element 3a which works to make a brake current to flow to a motor 2 and is connected to an AC power source 1, and when the signals are in a braking continuing time based on a set brake command signal, the controller causes a gate trigger circuit 9 to generate a gate trigger signal via an AND circuit 8 and operates the element 3a with the gate trigger signal to brake the motor 2 by making the brake current flow into the motor 2. In the gate trigger circuit 9, a timer circuit 10 for holding gate trigger is provided to maintain the gate trigger signal for a certain fixed period of time.
