PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with widened Vth luminescent point margin due to leakage of a pixel transistor, when a black frame is displayed on upper/lower parts of a picture plane. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device performing a frame display on the upper/lower parts of the picture plane by collectively open/close controlling row selection OR gates 133-1, 133-2, 133-m-1, 133-m, by making horizontal switches 24-1 to 24-n an on-state at the timing collectively closing the row selection OR gates 133-1, 133-2, 133-m-1, 133-m and setting all the potentials of signal lines 25-1 to 25-n by plural columns into prescribed potentials, so that these signal lines 25-1 to 25-n will not be made into a floating state.
