PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and compact microscope constituted so that a vertical fluorescent image and a confocal image can be obtained arbitrary. SOLUTION: This microscope is constituted, so that the confocal image is obtained by synchronously rotating a disk having plural condensing means and a disk having plural apertures, whose patterns are identical to the condensing means, condensing a light transmitted through the condensing means and the apertures and scanning a sample with the condensed light. Then, it is provided with a light source, an objective lens, a vertical fluorescence illuminating means irradiating the sample with vertical fluorescent illumination light through the objective lens, a photodetector photographing the vertical fluorescent image and the confocal image and a confocal light scanner 50 scanning the sample with the light emitted from the light source through the objective lens, made to reflect the fluorescent light generated at the sample on dichroic mirrors 3 and 10 and outputting it to the photodetector.
