PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refrigerator in which depth can be increased at the lower section of refrigerating compartment and internal volume of the refrigerating compartment can be increased while eliminating pressure loss around an air volume regulator. SOLUTION: A refrigerator has three or more compartments including a refrigerating compartment 1 at the upper stage, a compartment 2 of 0 deg.C or above at the intermediate and a freezing compartment 3 at the lower stage. The freezing compartment 3 and the refrigerating compartment 1 are interconnected through a chill passage 20 comprising a freezing compartment side duct 5, a refrigerating compartment side duct 22, and a duct 23 for coupling these ducts in the area of the compartment 2 of 0 deg.C or above and circulation of chill from the freezing compartment 3 to the refrigerating compartment 1 is switched by means of an air volume regulator 24 disposed in the chill passage 20. In such a refrigerator, the air volume regulator 24 is disposed on the outside of area of the refrigerator 1. |
