PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent stain proofing performance of disassembling and removing an adhering contaminant material by forming a thin film of photocatalyst particles on the surface of a filter for an image display device. SOLUTION: A photocatalyst particle is a particle which exibits a photocatalyst function when it is irradiated by light with a wavelength having energy more than a band gap of the particle, and is used in combination with a metal compound semiconductor such as titanium oxide, zinc oxide, tungsten oxide, iron oxide or the like. Among them, titanium oxide is preferable because it has high catalytic activity and excellent durability, and is not harmful. As a method of forming a thin film of photocatalyst particles or a thin film containing photocatalyst particles on a filter substrate for an image display device, cited are a method of coating a coating material composition containing a binder on the surface of the substrate, a transfer method, a reactive sputtering method and a deposition method. |
