PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reading efficiency of a home page on an internet by detecting the characteristic keyword and key file of a stored page out of an HTML file of the page when the home page is moving and acquiring and recording automatically a new URL of a home page of the shifting destination by means of those detected keyword and key file. SOLUTION: An automatic updating program 201 of the registered home page information updates the contents of a home page URL register table 205 if it's decided that the home page moved and the URL is clear at the moving destination based on the checking result of a home page movement check function 203. If it's decided that the home page moved but the moving destination is not clear, the moving destination is retrieved by a moving destination URL retrieval function 204. When a moving destination is specified, the contents of the table 205 are also updated. If no moving destination is specified, an new HTML file including all information on the home page is generated and replaced with the URL.
