PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time occupied by a printer for data transmission by reducing a transmission data amount, while effectively utilizing the duration until the printer becomes idle. SOLUTION: On a printer controller 10, a printer driver 2 translates transmission data into printer language, on the basis of a printing request from an application 1 and stores these transmission data in a spooler 4, and when a printer 20 in the destination of output is occupied, on the basis of the monitored result of a spool monitor module 3, the transmission data spooled in the spooler 4 are compressed until that printer 20 becomes idle.
