PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve turn-on loss of a ringing choke converter. SOLUTION: In a ringing choke converter where a first capacitor 3 is connected in parallel with a switching element 2, a series circuit of a resistor 7, a second capacitor 12 and an inductor 13 is inserted between the control electrode of the switching element 2 and a positive feedback winding 1b, a third capacitor 14 is connected in parallel with the control electrode of the switching element 2 and a transistor 15 is also connected in parallel with the control electrode of the switching element 2. The transistor 15 is connected with a control circuit for turning the switching element 2 on/off by turning the transistor 15 on thereby discharging the control electrode of the switching element 2.
