New substantially pure or recombinant human DNAX toll-like receptor 2 (DTLR2), DTLR3, DTLR4, DTLR5, DTLR6, DTLR7, DTLR8, DTLR9 or DTLR10 proteins or peptides exhibits >= 85% sequence identity over a length of >= 12 amino acids to the 784, 904, 837, 365, 1045, 329 or 171, 282, 142, or 336 amino acid sequences respectively (all sequences are given in the specification). Also claimed are: (1) a fusion protein comprising the above DTLR protein or peptide; (2) a binding compound, preferably an antibody or antibody fragment which specifically binds to the above DTLR protein or peptide; (3) a nucleic acid encoding the above DTLR protein or peptide; (4) an expression vector comprising the nucleic acid of (3), and (5) a host cell comprising the vector of (4).
