PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method which can determine the optimum strategy with trial writings of as few as possible for each recording time in order to attain the adequate recording condition. SOLUTION: When the emission waveform, in the case of optical disc medium is that of a dye-based medium, is a multi-pulse consisting of more than one pulse train, a trial write is conducted by the combination (c) of pulse widths TE, TF of the patterns extracted by an orthogonal table in a predetermined area of the optical disc medium and recorded power Pw, where the laser emission waveform rule elements are defined to be the pulse width TE of leading heating pulse E in the multi-pulse, the pulse width TF of the succeeding multi- path F, and the recording power Pw. Thereby, recording may be conducted using the optimum laser beam emission waveform rules particularly suited for the case of the dye-based medium for recording using the multi-pulse, by determining the recording power Pw, pulse widths TE and TF at the time of recording operation depending on the result of trial recording operation. |
