PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve a sense of incongruity of a user due to interruption of a video output in the case that a view allowance rank extracted from a television signal exceeds a view inhibit rank registered by the user. SOLUTION: When a view allowance rank superimposed on a television signal received by a tuner 10 exceeds a view inhibit rank written in an EEPROM 80, an amplitude control circuit of a vertical deflection circuit 50a adjusts the amplitude of a sawtooth wave signal in a decreasing direction than usual so as to display a video image on a CRT 40 in a range reduced in a vertical direction. Thus, this processing attains reduction in the sense of incongruity of a user.
