PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the film thickness of a phosphor for the side surface of a barrier rib in relation to a fluorescent screen for a plasma display panel and its formation method. SOLUTION: This fluorescent screen for a plasma display panel(PDP) has a phosphor layer 18 between barrier ribs partitioning a discharge space and having a predetermined flat shape; and in the fluorescent screen for the PDP of which the phosphor layer is formed by multiple times of application processes, when it is assumed that the discharge space volume partitioned by a substrate, the barrier ribs on both sides, the upper surfaces of the barrier ribs and the like is 100, the substantial discharge space volume excluding the volume occupied by the phosphor layer is 50-80, and both film thicknesses of the phosphor layer at the bottom phosphor layer d1 and at a position d2 lowered by 20% from the top of the barrier rib are 10-25%. In this formation method of the fluorescent screen for the PDP, a predetermined photosensitive or non- photosensitive paste composition is applied between the barrier ribs by means of twice or more processes and thereafter, the paste composition is dried so that the phosphor layer having a predetermined film thickness can be formed. |
