PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power factor correcting unit for inverter in which power factor can be corrected easily by providing a circuit executing a power factor correcting function in place of an analog power factor correcting IC in a microprocessor. SOLUTION: A power factor correcting unit for inverter comprises an AC commercial power supply 100, a rectifying section for the AC commercial power supply 100, a capacitor 120 for smoothing the output voltage from the rectifying section, a microprocessor 300 for receiving the output from the rectifying section, detecting the zero point of the AC commercial power supply and outputting a switch control signal having a specified pulse width in response thereto, a switching element Q2 being turned on/off by the switch control signal delivered from the microprocessor 300, and an inverter 130 for converting DC output voltage from the smoothing capacitor 120 into a variable frequency variable voltage. |
