PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody a narrow frame, the simplification of mechanism design and the reduction of number of parts and to improve reliability when a liquid crystal display device is composed of a flexible film substrate formed with circuits for driving a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: The flexible film substrate 1 is formed as the narrower frame by bending a multilayered substrate 4 and is provided with slits 3 in bent parts 2, by which stresses are relieved. The peeling defect by a double coated tacky adhesive tape is eliminated by the constitution provided with the slits 3 at >=30% of the length of the flexible film substrate 1. Further, the stresses of the bent parts 2 may be made equal by equally arranging the slits 3. The stresses to be impressed to the bent parts 2 may be decreased and the reliability is improved by such constitution.
