The invention relates to a metal support for domestic use, designed for capping and sterilizing fruit and vegetable jars. The metal support comprises an assembly of upper and lower disks (A, B, C, D) interconnected by some connecting spacer rods (1), each of them having at its upper end a fastening-pressing assembly (E) for the lids (2) of the jars (3). The upper disks (A, B) are concentric and connected by some side members, the lower disks are also concentric and connected by some side members (5) and in their upper part by a Y-shaped tripod (6). The assembly (E) for fastening the lids (2) comprises a concave pressing disk (7) and a resilient blade (8) provided at its ends with some claws (a, b) covering up the circumference of the disks (A, B), said blade being rotatable about their circumference describing a circular arc.
