PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality rod type crimp terminal manufacturable at a low cost, and excellent in insertability into a quick connection terminal device. SOLUTION: This rod type crimp terminal 10 comprises a nearly cylindrical crimp part 1 formed by drawing a conductive plate of a prescribed thickness, and a rod-like terminal part 3 integrally and projectingly formed in an end opening edge of the crimp part 1 by blanking and bending. After the crimp part 1 of the crimp terminal 10 is crimped to a conductor 5a of an electric wire 5 with the conductor 5a inserted into the crimp part 1, the crimp terminal 10 is inserted into an insulation tube 4 having a small-diameter part 4a in a tip part such that a tip part 3a of the terminal part 3 projects from an opening of a tip of the small-diameter part 4a. As a result, the terminal part 3 except the projecting part and the crimp part 1 are covered with the insulation tube 4. The rod-like terminal part 3 is curled up such that an external diameter of the tip part 3a gets gradually reduced and thinned toward the tip direction, so as to improve insertability into a quick connection terminal device. An inner circumferential face of an electric wire insertion side opening edge of the crimp part 1 is a taper face.
