PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of the inner surface of an insert hole and improve the reliability of waterproofing and working efficiency by forming a box-shaped electric contact part into a deformed angle sectional profile in which one set of opposed edges in the square cross section have different lengths, and providing terminal insert holes of the similar form slightly larger than it on a connector housing and a mat seal cover. SOLUTION: A female terminal 4 having a box-shaped electric contact part 5 is mounted within the terminal housing chamber 3 of a housing 2, and a mat seal 6 having a plurality of wire sealing insert holes 7 is mounted on the rear end of the terminal housing chamber 3. The square cross section of the box-shaped electric contact part 5 is formed into a deformed angle sectional profile having one set of opposed edges differed in length. Terminal insert holes 14 of the similar form slightly larger than this deformed angle sectional profile are formed in the housing 2 and a mat seal cover 13 for nipping the mat seal 6. According to this, in the resulting waterproof connector 1, the sealing property can be ensured, and the assembling is facilitated since the sectional outer profile of the female terminal 4 is substantially the same as the sectional profile of a wire W.
