PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control saturation timing of the magnetic switch of a magnetic pulse compressing circuit type pulse power unit using the magnetic switch, having a plurality of unit cores by eliminating the influence of the residual charge of a capacitor. SOLUTION: A pulse power unit is provided with a magnetic switch 30, having three unit cores 31-33 and windings 37-39 for biasing wound at every unit core and a bias power source circuit 50 which makes bias currents for resetting the cores 31-33 flow to the windings 37-39 of the switch 30. The power source circuit 50 has functions for making a bias current flow to at least one winding for bias of the switch 30 in the direction opposite to the flowing directions of the bias currents for resetting made to flow to the other windings for bias.
