PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the dimension of a circuit board in widthwise direction by providing respective outer electrodes on the input and output sides on one side surface of both side surfaces parallel to the lengthwise direction of a piezoelectric plate. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric transformer is formed like a long plate, and outer electrodes 8 and 9 on the input side as an input electrode for inputting an a.c. voltage, an outer electrode 10 for low voltage part on the output side as an output electrode for leading out a voltage generating in accordance with the input of the a.c. voltage, an outer electrode 11 for low voltage part, and an outer electrode 12 for low voltage part on the output side, are provided on one side surface of both side surfaces parallel to the lengthwise direction of the piezoelectric transformer. Two long plate piezoelectric ceramic boards 1 and two long plate piezoelectric ceramic boards 1' are laminated to form such a transformer. Thus, the circuit board can be downsized in widthwise direction, reducing the mounting space.
