PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable focus jump corresponding to plane wobble of a disc. SOLUTION: Focus jump is conducted after moving to the inner circumference side where plane wobble is small in the radial direction of a disc. Moreover, the focus error signal corresponding to the plane wobble is fed forward at the time of focus jump to follow the plane wobble even if focus jump occurs. Moreover, position of objective lens is held until the signal recording plane reaches the focusing position due to the plane wobble. Moreover, the rotating speed of disc is controlled depending on the amount of plane wobble.
