DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INSPECTING PAINTING FOR UNEVENNESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively evaluate unevenness of metallic painting with a wide visual field on a line. SOLUTION: A painted surface is irradiated with light at an angle of 45 deg. by using an artificial sunlamp 3 as a light source and the video of the painted surface is taken with a CCD camera 2 from the shade side and fetched as picture data. Then a personal computer 20 calculates the quantitative evaluated value of the unevenness of metallic painting by performing luminance histogram analysis or line profile analysis on the fetched picture data and discriminating the presence/absence of the occurrence of unevenness in the painting by comparing the evaluated value with a preset reference value.
