PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an abnormal rise in pressure as caused when a compressor is started from a high load stop position in a refrigeration cycle which has a compressor, a heat radiator, an expansion device, an evaporator and an internal heat exchanger that performs a heat exchange between a refrigerant flowing out of the evaporator and a refrigerant in a supercritical range and uses a supercritical fluid as refrigerant. SOLUTION: An expansion device 5 is provided with a decompression adjusting valve 14 to adjust the travel thereof by a refrigerant temperature and a refrigerant pressure on the inflow side, and a relief valve 15 to make the inflow side communicate with the outflow side of the expansion device 5, when the refrigerant pressure on the inflow side is above a specified value exceeding a control pressure of the decompression adjusting valve 14. The decompression adjusting valve 14 is located on a path in which the refrigerant flowing into the expansion device 5 reaches the relief valve 15. The relief valve may be provided with the decompression adjusting valve and when the refrigerant pressure on the inflow side exceeds a specified value, the relief valve is displaced integrally with the adjusting valve to open.
