Wire lock tool having graduated scale and twisting means for installing and aligning ceiling suspension grid

A combination tool 2 suitable for use in installing and aligning ceiling suspension grid which is suspended by hanger wire comprises a body 4 having two ends 8, 9 and a central region 10 prolonging between the ends. A linear scale 6 extends along central region 10 of body 4. Means 18 integral with and positioned at one end of body 4 is for temporarily attaching the tool to a part of the ceiling grid such that scale 6 extends perpendicular to a planar surface of the grid to be aligned, whereby a rotating laser beam or other radiating light means can be positioned to intercept the tool along the linear scale 6 to indicate any adjustment in aligning required. Means 22 integral with body 4 is suitable for engaging and twisting the grid hanger wire 12 to connect the grid and adjust the alignment of the grid.
