PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satisfactory output image for high density recording such as 1200 dpi image and 600 dpi or 300 dpi PWM image by rearranging the toner of a toner image on an image carrier with fidelity to a latent-image charge pattern by means of a re-arranging electrode set downstream of a developing device with respect to the image carrier. SOLUTION: A re-arranging electrode 130 is a thick block-like bar extending in the longitudinal direction of a photoreceptor drum and made of a conductive member. Its surface 126 has the form of a recessed face consisting of a circular arc having a radius of curvature R whose center is the center of the circle of the photoreceptor drum. The radius of curvature R of the recessed surface 126 is 15.5 mm, and a distance to the photoreceptor drum having a radius of 15.00 mm is maintained at 500 μm. The width W of the electrode 130 is 10 mm. an alternating voltage with 2,000 Hz and 500 Vpp superposed by a direct voltage of 600 V is applied to the electrode 130, and consequently the toner of a toner image formed by the development of a latent image on the photoreceptor drum is caused to fly reciprocally and rearranged. |
