PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a generator in which a plurality of inverter circuits can be connected in series or parallel and synchronization of outputs from respective inverter circuits can be controlled easily. SOLUTION: Connection of two power generating systems including an inverter circuit can be switched at a series/parallel switching section 5. When connection is switched, reference waveform signals are communicated between two power generating systems. Frequency of the reference waveform signal is increased or decreased such that the phase difference between these waveform signals falls within a predetermined range. When the phase difference falls within a predetermined range, the inverter circuit is driven to start power generation. Frequency increase/decrease control for matching the phase difference is continued after starting power generation.
