摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a small-area display device at a low cost by attaching a polymer dispersion liquid crystal which does not require a polarizer or alignment layer on the power generating face of a solar cell and supplying at least part of the electric power for driving the display of the polymer dispersion liquid crystal from the solar cell. SOLUTION: A polymer dispersion liquid crystal display device 101 is overlapped on the light-accepting face of a solar cell 102, and the connector 104 led from the liquid crystal display device 101 is connected to an IC module 103. The polymer dispersion liquid crystal display device 101 has such a structure that liquid crystal droplets are dispersed in a polymer resin to form a liquid crystal layer and the both surface of the liquid crystal layer are interposed between patterned transparent electrodes. Then the polymer dispersion liquid crystal which does not require a polarlizer or alignment layer is attached to the power generation face of a solar cell 102, and at least part of the power for driving the display of the polymer dispersion liquid crystal is supplied from the solar cell 102. Therefore, since the polarlizer or alignment layer is not required, the objective small-area display device can be realized at a low cost.</p>
