PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel constituted such that a photographing mode is quickly switched to another photographing mode, thus improving operability. SOLUTION: Each roller is held freely turnably by a pivot 31 formed at the outside circumference of a cam barrel. A manual focusing ring is supported freely turnably by an outside fixed barrel 7 and the roller is brought into rolling contact with the back end surface of a rotary barrel which extends from the manual focusing ring. The back part of the fixed barrel is provided with a drive barrel having an inscribed gear meshed with a pinion and the roller is brought into rolling contact with the front end surface of the drive barrel. A grip sensor is disposed inside the manual focusing ring, and a detection signal is transmitted to a CPU in the lens barrel. A mode change-over switch is disposed at the outer circumferential surface of the outside fixed barrel and a switching signal is transmitted to the CPU in the lens barrel. The detection signal of the grip sensor and the switching signal of the mode change-over switch are transmitted to the CPU of a camera side from the CPU in the lens barrel. |
