In the compound of formula (I), R1 and R2 are independently H or methyl. An example of the compound is N,N-dimethyl-1-[1-(4-chlorophenyl)cyclobutyl]-3-methylbutyl amine hydrochloride. The compound may be in the form of its monohydrate. The compound can be used for lowering the uric acid level in humans and to treat humans suffering from or at risk of developing gout, hyperuricaemia or coronary heart disease.
