PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method capable of improving the sharpness of an edge while maintaining high image quality. SOLUTION: As for an attentional pixel p1 in a magnified image, the respective pixels inside a prescribed corresponding area RA around the position corresponding to the attentional pixel p1 in a source image are respectively defined as center pixels. The correlation degree of the respective pixels inside the object area OA of 3×3 pixels around the attentional pixel p1 in the enlarged image and the respective pixels inside the comparison area CA of 3×3 pixels around the center pixel in the source image is obtained. The correlation degree is respectively obtained while successively making the center pixel in the source image be different inside the corresponding area RA. Then, the center pixel of the highest correlation degree with the object area OA in the comparison area CA is obtained as the maximum correlation pixel and the gradation value of the maximum correlation pixel in the source image is composed with the gradation value of the attentional pixel of the magnified image. Thus, the edge of the magnified image is sharpened. |
