PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device with which copying is easily executed in a short time by identifying a setting item in copying destination equipment from among the setting items in copying source equipment and copying a setting state in the copying source equipment into the copying destination equipment for each setting item. SOLUTION: In a copying device 3, a comparison means 31 compares the number of measurement channels in a measuring instrument of copying source with the number of those in the instrument of copying destination. Also, comparison is also executed with the number of arithmetic channels in the measuring instrument in the copying source. A channel number deciding means 32 decides that the smaller measurement channel number and arithmetic channel number are the ones to be copied, as the result of comparison by the means 31. A copying means 33 copies the setting state in the measurement instrument in the copying source into the instrument of the copying destination for the portion of the channel number which is decided by a channel number deciding means 32. The comparing means 31 compares an option existing in the copying source measurement instrument with the one existing in the copying destination measurement instrument and similarly conducts communication for copying the setting state.
