PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrode which is inexpensive and has characteristics of being hard to be peeled from a resin part by forming a conductive coating film in a protective device body, and by forming an electrode integrated with the protective device body so that the coating film layer can be embedded. SOLUTION: An electrode is produced by forming a conductive paste layer 2 at the area adjacent to both ends of a PTC constituent body 1 consisting of a resin which is a protective device body 10, and a conductive filler. In addition, a plated layer 3 is formed on both the sides of the electrode to become the protective device 10. The protective device 10 is produced in the following process. A conductive paste layer 2 consisting of nickel powder, and polyvinyl butyral, and a solvent is applied on both the sides of a resin sheet forming the protective device body, and then the conductive paste layer is dried. Next, thermal pressing is implemented so that the paste layer 2 can be embedded in order to integrate the paste layer 2 and the resin layer 1 into one. The plated layer 3 is formed on both the sides of the resin sheet. After that, the resin sheet is cut into the prescribed size to form the protective device 10.
