PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a patrol system which automatically finds in a centralized monitoring room the stagnation of patrol inspection work to output an alarm and prompts confirmation. SOLUTION: Field inspection in plural positions is performed by a portable terminal, and a telephone line network 3 is used to transmit inspection data to a centralized monitoring room 4. At the time of collecting inspection data in each field by the centralized monitoring room 4, inspection data of each field from the portable terminal 1 are edited in an inspection data arrangement processing part 7 and are displayed on a display device 8, and in parallel with this display, a position recognition processing part 9 specifies the inspection place from which pertinent inspection data have been transmitted on the basis of received inspection data; and if inspection data from a next inspection field determined in advance is not received although estimated time required for movement to the next inspection field and transmission of inspection data has passed after reception of the inspection data of an inspection field, an alarm reporting the stagnation of inspection work is outputted to the display device 8 to inform a monitor of it.
