PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction melting furnace with improved melting performance by improving a fluidity pattern in molten metal to enhance degassing efficiency without lowering melting efficiency during melting. SOLUTION: In the induction melting furnace 10 provided with plural induction coils 16A, 16B, a.c. power sources 12, 14 for applying a.c. to the induction coils 16A, 16B, and a crucible 18 for housing metal to be melted and melting the metal to be melted by heat generated by induction current Je and degassing the molten metal to be melted, the a.c. power sources 12, 14 comprise a high frequency power source 14 for being used at the time of melting the metal to be melted and a low frequency power source 12 for being used at the time of degassing the melted metal. When the low frequency power source 12 consists of 2 phases or 3 phases and is an a.c. power source with 50 Hz or 60 Hz, factories, steel works or the like are able to use conventional commercial power and not necessary to use a low frequency power source particularly separately. This simplifies a structure of the induction melting furnace 10 and reduces production cost.
