PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a stable image signal and to reduce noise and correct offset by executing a first cycle for reading a specific pixel in a column by reading an accumulated electrical charge and a second cycle for collecting a noise signal being superposed on a pixel signal in a first cycle before the pixel electrical charge in the column is read by the first cycle. SOLUTION: M TFTs 3 that are provided corresponding to M pixel electrodes 2 per line are subjected to switching control while shifting time each other by a gate driver 5 so that no ON state occurs simultaneously, thus outputting an electrical charge from only either pixel on the same line. The electrical charge is read via the TFTs 3 and a signal line and is converted to a signal voltage corresponding to the amount of electrical charge. The signal is inputted to an analog multiplexer 6 nearly simultaneously for M lines, input signals for the M lines are successively switched, and a one-dimensional electrical signal flow is formed. The signal is converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 8 and is stored in a two-dimensional memory, thus forming a two-dimensional digital image.
