A cap (2) is threaded into a shell (1), to form a closed enclosure (24). A flexible diaphragm (6) partitions the enclosure into two isolated halves through suitable elastomeric sealing (5). The lower half of the enclosure is accessed from below the hazardous fluid connection (22), while the space above, filled with a standard measuring fluid is coupled to the pressure sensor (10). The shell and the cap are made of fluoropolymers, either perfluoroalkoxy, polyvinylidene fluoride or PTFE based. The flexible diaphragm has a synthetic resin derived fiber core as reinforcing medium sandwiched by two perfluoroalkoxy copolymer layers.
