摘要 mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: silencer is provided with second section whose longitudinal partitions are turned relative to longitudinal partitions of first section through angle of 45 to 135 deg around axis of housing. Gas admitted through intake branch pipe 2 to housing 1 of first section of silencer flows through slotted passages 6 to housing 2 of second section of silencer, then it flows through slotted passages 10 ( not shown in Fig. 1) and is discharge into surrounding medium or adjacent reservoir through discharge branch pipe 4. During motion of gas, acoustic waves are mainly reflected due to successive dampening of resonance oscillations in first and second sections and due to difference in cross sections of narrowing sections 7 and widening sections 8 of slotted passages 6 and 10, thus ensuring attenuation of them. Operation of silencer is characterized by wide-band silencing. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl, 3 dwg
