Borosilicate glass of specified composition is used for production of thermal cycling resistant beverage containers. A glass of composition (by wt., on oxide basis) 78.5-79.5% SiO2, 13.0-14.0% B2O3, 2.0-3.0% Al2O3, 4.5-5.5% Na2O, 0-0.6% K2O and optionally usual amounts of refiners is used for production of thermal cycling resistant beverage containers.
