A chain drive mechanism for a conveyer or mechanical handling system has a lubrication head which operates without stopping the chain drive. The lubrication head is mounted on a slide (1) which is capable of limited synchronous movement with the chain. The slide has a pick-up lever (2) which drives the motion.
