<p>The invention concerns the detection of the formation of a deposit of material contained in a fluid, which consists in measuring the value of a heat flow circulating between the first and second surfaces (6) of a heat flow sensor (5) set in the fluid (3); in detecting the variations in said flow relative to a reference heat flow which exceed a threshold. The first heat sensor (5) surface (4) being in contact with the fluid and a difference in temperature being maintained constant between the fluid and the sensor (5) second surface (6), said variations represent the formation of a material deposit (1) on the sensor (5) first surface (4). The invention is useful in the oil and petrochemical industry for detecting the formation of hydrates, paraffin, polymers or salts in equipment for producing, transporting or treating gases or liquids and for detecting ice formation.</p> |
