A device for impregnating a moving web, such as a pulp web, comprises a tub containing impregnating fluid, one or more transporting drums installed in series along the path of motion of the impregnated web in the tub, two continuous web-transporting belts placed on belt-driving rollers and made in the form of wires, and plates submerged into the tub and installed both above the plane of web motion and beneath the plane of web motion. The plates are oriented at an inclination angle relative to the plane of motion of the web and are installed so that they provide an option of varying their inclination angle and depth of submergence, which enable selection of an optimal mode of humidifying the web by controlling a wave generation process in the layers adjacent to the belts and in the surface layer of the impregnating fluid.
