Smart card connector with card detection switch

A smart card connector has a tact switch (20) actuated by two actuator beads (32,34) with one of the beads (32) projecting into the card receiving slot (12). The actuator bead (32) projecting into the card slot is offset with respect to the other actuator bead (34) in order to displace activation of the tact switch (20) to the very end of the smart card (1) travel.
