A light sensor (LS) (2) converts a light signal (21) into free charged particles. A reference frequency generator (29) connected to the LS sets up an AC voltage with a reference frequency to the LS with two or more individually triggerable sensor electrodes (5,7) connected to the reference frequency generator for routing to one of the two sensor electrodes the charged particles generated by the light signal in phase with a signal frequency and the reference frequency.
