PURPOSE: A digital satellite broadcasting receiver and a method for processing digital caption data are provided to separate caption data from digital broadcasting video stream. CONSTITUTION: A digital satellite broadcasting receiver includes a user selector(300), a caption data detector(301), a caption data processor(302) and a caption data display(303). The user selector(300) selects user caption and display fonts for the user caption using the caption information of current broadcasting program. The caption data detector(301) detects the corresponding caption data and re-arranges the data according to the user selection. The caption data processor(302) analyzes the caption data and re-configures into bitmap data. The caption data display(303) includes text display which overlaps the bitmap data on a position corresponding to the video signal. |
