PURPOSE: A method for preparing supported metallocene catalyst systems using an aliphatic solvent which exhibits increased activity is provided. CONSTITUTION: A method for forming a supported metallocene catalyst system comprising: (a) reacting metallocene and a first alumoxane portion to form a catalyst solution; (b) combining aliphatic hydrocarbon and support material to form a mixture; (c) combining the catalyst solution with the mixture; and then (d) adding a second activator portion. In the method, the ratio of aliphatic hydrocarbon to aromatic hydrocarbon is at least 1:1.
