PURPOSE: An electric connector assembly having an optical transfer device is provided to prevent the phenomenon of a plug cable from blocking an optical display device while the cable is inserted into a receptacle. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector assembly having an optical transfer device includes a housing(12). The housing includes a plurality of receptacles(18a,18b) so as to contain a plurality of connection plugs. Optical guides(36a,36b) are coupled with each of the receptacles(18a,18b) and each of the connection plugs so as to transfer the signal representing the circuit status. All Optical guide(36a,36b) include front edge(42a,42b) visible from a front side of the hosing over the upper receptacle(18a). Each of front edge includes displays(42a,42b,44a,44b,46a,46b) for displaying receptacles coupled so as for each of the optical guides to operate.
