PURPOSE: Polymeric fluid separation membranes is provided which exhibit enhanced gas transport properties in a wide range of separation applications. CONSTITUTION: Polymeric fluid separation membranes which exhibit good fluid separation properties are formed from polyetherimides having repeating units of the structural formula made by reacting bisphenol A-etherdianhydride with 1,5 naphthalene diamine. The polyetherimide has a weight average molecular weight from 15,000 to 100,000.
