<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a process and an action and to protect a spare key against its misuse by transmitting the identification number of the spare key to a central processing center for a check. SOLUTION: The identification information VK-KEY-ID of a spare key is coded together with the public key P-CODE-VK and is transmitted to a VK data bank via the telephone of a vehicle, for example. The random number RAND and VK-Key identification information VK-KEY-ID are reproduced with the secret key S-CODE-VK of the VK data bank, and whether the VK-Key identification information VK-KEY-ID is allocated to a valid spare key or not is checked. If it is effective, the result is transmitted to the CAS in the vehicle, the random number RAND is reproduced with the secret key S- CODE-Fzg, and it is compared with the random number RAND in the memory. If both are equal, the validity of the spare key VK-Key is verified, and the requested command is implemented.</p> |
