PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet allowing a toilet bowl and its surroundings to be cleaned easily by allowing cleaning equipment such as a brush or mop to easily enter and move during cleaning. SOLUTION: In this toilet, a stage plate 30 is generally horizontally arranged above the excrement receiving opening 11 of a toilet bowl 10 and toilet seat arranging hole 31 is formed in the part of the stage plate 30 above the excrement receiving opening 11, with a toilet seat openably and closably installed in the toilet seat arranging hole 31. The stage plate 30 can oscillate about its rear and between a horizontal condition and a lifted condition in which its front end is lifted diagonally upward, and can be fixed in an appropriate oscillating position.
